THE MOVEMENT

It's a fact...

No one tells our stories better than we do. That's why we started the Black Girls Unscripted community - to curate, share and celebrate the narratives of black women and girls that often go unheard, forgotten or overlooked in mainstream media, popular culture and within our communities.

We know the stories that Black women consume about our beauty, diversity, history and contributions are most authentic and best told through our lens. So we're reclaiming our stories here - in a safe and embracing space, across generations, created especially for Black women and girls - and turning it into a movement. We invite you to learn more about our community and join us!

BE INSPIRED!

Our Stories Are Our Meeting Place!

We have important stories to tell. Unfiltered, authentic, wisdom packed stories worthy

of sharing. Whether we're discovering the stories of dynamic trailblazers who came before us, celebrating today's changemakers, or simply sharing our everyday journey, the Black Girls Unscripted tribe is right there with you!

"I have a daughter, so anything that's connected  to uplifting women   and girls, I want to support it."

- Common

We had the pleasure of catching up with the rapper, actor, author, philanthropist, and Oscar Winner at the Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD. We wanted to know his thoughts on how

hip-hop impacts women and girls, and how he juggles being a rapper with fatherhood and his most memorable career moments,. Click on video to listen!
